The Dharma of the Natural World: Seeing Yourself in Ten Thousand Mirrors

On a walk outdoors, reflections appear everywhere: in the sharp outlines of a cumulus cloud, the quizzical tilt of a blue jay’s head, or the soft moss on a stone. In this talk, I will share how looking closely at nature has become a central part of my Zen practice, deepening both physical intuition and the experience of Zazen.

Chogai Alex Kinsella is a member of the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha and a scientist who studies clouds over the ocean. His practice bridges science and direct experience, with copious time spent wandering in nature observing birds, bugs, clouds, and the patterns that bind them together.

This Dharma talk will be given November 4, 2025 at 7:00-9:00PM. See the calendar for more details.
